At 31 March 2020 COVID-19 or more commonly known as The Corona Virus, had infected more than 850 000 people, killed over 42 000 people and seen over 177 000 people recover from the virus.
The destruction to business has been horrific. With almost 50% of the entire globe in Lockdown or under really strict guidelines, the Hospitality Industry has been hit hard and the anxiety and panic can almost be plated as a new specialty.
Social Media is a buzz, with almost everyone becoming an expert on the topic and News Agencies releasing up to the minute Breaking News, almost every other minute of the day.
In times like these, Companies and Individuals who tackle the problems head on and offer a helping hand become the new heroes, when we all get back to our regular lives. The Social Grill is committed to providing some content that will inspire and uplift many people in our industry to keep on-keeping on.
Enter Pedro Barbosa – Pedro is well known in SA for his electrifying performances and crowd engagement. Known for creating a great party atmosphere and as a highlight at The Social Grill on Sundays. His final set normally gets the staff fired up as he plays a selection of local favourites.
Pedro has decided to take advantage of the lockdown period and do a few live shows to help create a hopeful situation for our waiters, who have been hit the hardest in the Industry in South Africa.
When speaking to Pedro about his own situation in Lockdown, he was inspired to do something great for the guys who are his biggest fans. He says “I have a close connection with the waiters” and “I love walking into a venue, being greeted by the waiters who are so happy to see me perform!”. During the first few Live Internet shows people asked him about some of his favourite venues. This sparked him to do something amazing for the Waiters.
Some advice from Pedro during the Lockdown, “Stay Home, Eat Healthy, Occupy yourself and keep positive for everyone and pass those positive vibes on!”
